This competition is run by your LCG School Rep, assisted by the Student Voice team. Founder of the competition – India Ellis. 

 

What is the BAME Person of the Month Competition?

The competition is a way of celebrating members of the BAME community who are doing inspirational things.

These people can be international (not UK based) and can either be living or dead.

The people you enter can be working in any sector!  

The entries will be voted on by LCG Rep, VP Wellbeing & Diversity, the BAME officer, International student’s officer and the Student Voice team!

 


 

What do you have to do?

  • To enter this competition, you have to write anywhere from 200-300 words on someone you think is inspirational – on a word doc.  

  • The text itself can be either factual or emotive, but it must say why this BAME person is inspirational to you and others.  

  • Use a high-resolution image if possible! 

  • We will format it for the social media channels but let us know if you have any specific requests - your usernames to be tagged in the posts for example.

  • Dates will be sent out via email.  

  • Email entries to: studentvoice@su.plymouth.ac.uk 

 


 

What do you get if you win?

Your work will be published!!! – On the UPSU Instagram and LinkedIn.

You will be interviewed by Plymouth Herald about your article!

This is something amazing for your CV and LinkedIn profile!
