Our BUCS teams have been presented with their BUCS medals this year as a recognition of their achievements throughout the season.

Starting with our SILVER MEDALS

Men’s Badminton – V Swansea 1s (Away) 09/03/22

Obviously a very close match with the score, but our team did extremely well across the whole season and in every match of their league (only lost three fixtures) and the conference cup and were just beaten in this final fixture.

Final Score: 4-4 (Swansea won on Rubbers)

Team:

  • Javid Alibahai (Captain)
  • Sin Chan
  • Ruan Hoi Kwan
  • Wai Shing Lee
  • Marcus Kilby
  • David Trebert

Women’s Hockey 1s – V Bournemouth 1s (Away) 09/03/22

This was such a shame; the ladies had played Bournemouth the Wednesday before and drawn 2-2 so to go back up there and take the loss was very sad! Again, played incredibly well across all league and cup fixtures (only lost four overall).

Final Score: 2-1

Team:

#1 - Shona Birch

#2 - Kyra Walton

#3 - Jess Skinner

#4 - Jasmin Good

#5 - Katelyn Johnston (Captain)

#6 - Molly Lewis

#7 - Morgan Cameron

#8 - Jessica Dwane

#9 - Hatti Sydenham

#10 - Dulcie Glossop

#11 - Megan Pengelly

#12 - Daisy Bowmer

#13 - Tori Blackwell

#14 - Leah Graham

#15 - Eloise White

Women’s Rugby 1s v SGS 1s (Away) 09/03/22

This game was tough – very scrapy from what I heard! The score is not reflective of the performance our ladies put in or any of the extra changes they had to make at the last minute to accommodate the SGS team. The ladies played incredibly well and have done all season, and they picked themselves up and of course went on to win their varsity fixture.

Final Score 65-19

Team:

#1 - Elise Fauvel

#2 - Emily A-C (Captain)

#3 - Jess Hourston

#4 - Emily Warner

#5 - Grace Dale

#6 - Danai Mugabe

#7 - Scarlett Davies

#8 - Megan Adcock

#9 - Sofia Mazzone

#10 - Jessica Valentine

11. Nadia Tarkowska

#12 - Alice Considine

#13 - Amelia Marshall

#14 - Hannah Mead

#15 - Scarlett Clarke

#16 - Rosie-Mae Carter

#17 - Faye Dickens

#18 - Ella Martindale

#19 - Diana Rossell

#20 - Ellie Phillips

Women’s Tennis 1s – V Cardiff Met (Away) 09/03/22

This one was another real shame, these ladies have played insanely well this season, the only fixture they lost all year was this cup final which just shows the strength of this team.

Final Score: 5-1

Team:

  • Suraiya Van den Bos
  • Sarah-Jane Pritchard
  • Sally Lewin
  • Elizabeth Dickenson (Captain)
  • Elize Thomas

We then move on to our only team who won GOLD this year, congratulations to Men's rugby UPRFC

Men’s Rugby 1s – V Exeter 6s (Home) 09/03/22

This match was incredibly tense, the guys were behind throughout. The half time score was 14-0 to Exeter and with 20 minutes to go they were losing 24-8. When the 80 minutes were up Exeter were still in the lead but with 9 minutes of injury time it was all still to play for, and in the final minutes of injury time Exeter gave away a penalty (score was 22-24) and Mike Howell scored that penalty tipping Plymouth into the win as the final whistle blew. The team also went on to win their varsity fixture and get promoted within their BUCS leagues to League 1 so all in all, a very good season for this team.

Final Score: 25-24

Team:

#1 - Iwan Hughes

#2 - Finn Nicholas

#3 - Will Bailey

#4 - Will Peakman

#5 - David Bingham

#6 - Jack Richardson (Captain)

#7 - Tom Hancocks

#8 - Harry McCartney

#9 - Will Coley

#10 - Mike Howell

#11 - Finnley Chambers

#12 - Tom Russell

#13 - Tom Davies

#14 - Shay Taylor

#15 - Harrison Coonick

#16 - Seb Tooke

#17 - Will Johnson

#18 - Tim Ramshaw

#19 - Matthew Bailey

#20 - Ben Fallows

#21 - Callum Robertson
