Placement Providers Partnership Agreement

Welcome to UPSU’s Volunteering Database and Thank You for registering with us as a provider of volunteering opportunities within the local community.

Before proceeding, we’d just like to reaffirm our agreement with you that you would have entered into on registering with us.

The purpose of this agreement is to highlight:

a)    How student volunteers can be expected to be treated when volunteering in the community.

b)    UPSU’s responsibilities to its community partners and to its student volunteers.

c)    The expectations UPSU has of its community partners.

b)    Provide you with a member of staff as a regular point of contact.

c)    Promote your opportunities to students during the current academic year.

d)    Contact you on a termly basis in order to monitor student volunteers’ progress and to gain feedback on UPSU’s service.

e)    Provide support and guidance for each student volunteer UPSU refers to you.

f)     Provide volunteer training opportunities to student volunteers to enhance skills and knowledge.

g)    Provide realistic information about the limitations of working with student volunteers, (for example the constraints imposed by term dates and exams).

h)    Investigate, in line with its complaints policy, any complaints or problems which may arise involving student volunteers, keeping all parties informed as appropriate.

i)      Evaluate its student volunteering every year and if requested, feedback results to you.

To assist student volunteers with their volunteering please:

f)     Offer a chance where appropriate for student volunteers to ‘try out’ volunteering roles before committing to them.

g)    Provide a named supervisor, a full induction and ongoing support for each student volunteer.

h)    Encourage students to log their volunteer hours and training with UPSU.
