The University of Plymouth Law Society (UPLS) is a student run society which aims to give students the best start at a career in Law. We offer a large variety of events, competitions, socials and trips. The society also has strong links with the law school, local firms, chambers and professionals who interact and sponsor a large amount of our events and competitions. The UPLS is a open to anyone who wants to engage in a career in law regardless of your current program of study.
The UPLS isn't just about getting you that career in law we also know how important it is to let your hair down. As such we offer a range of socials throughout the year. Including a freshers boat party, annual cheese and wine and of course our annual law ball! Your Social Secretary will organise a variety of other events throughout the year which will be announced closer to the time! This year we will be having our very own UPLS sports teams, including Football and Netball! Contact your Sports Secretary to find out more infomation on this.
The UPLS holds a variety of events throughout the year including our annual mock trial. This unique experience allows students to engage in a mock case appearing before real magistrates. We also hold a client interviewing competition sponsored by Bond Dickinson. This is a key skill required for anyone who wants to be a solicitor and another boost for your CV. We also hold mooting, negotiating and debating inter-varsities against a variety of other universities. More events are added each year so please get in contact via our website.
