Introducing our Freshers' Welcome Buddies!
Our Welcome Buddies are University of Plymouth students who have volunteered their time during Freshers' Week to help support new students arriving at university! They will be helping students find their way around campus and taking groups of students on walks to some of the most popular spots in Plymouth, including the beautiful Barbican and the famous Plymouth Hoe.
So make sure to look out for our Welcome Buddies during Freshers -- they will be wearing black Welcome Buddy t-shirts!
Please purchase a 'free ticket' to guarantee a space on any of the Welcome Buddy tours. Please be aware that these tours are student-led, and are not guided tours of the city.

Be part of the UPSU Buddy Scheme:
The UPSU Buddy Scheme supports students who are struggling to settle into university life. The Buddy Scheme pairs a trained volunteer with an individual who may be finding it difficult to make friends at university or feel overwhelmed with moving away. This is a social scheme, so often buddies will go for a coffee with the student they have been paired with, help them find their way around campus, show them the best of Plymouth life, or attend activities and events with them.
Whether you decide to be a trained buddy and offer a helping hand to a fellow student, or you want to find a buddy to support you, this is a great opportunity to meet new people who you are matched based on common interests and hobbies.
