Last weekend, Plymouth University Ultimate Frisbee Club 'PICNIC' sent their women's team to Swansea to compete in the West of England Women's Indoor Frisbee Regionals, unfortunately, a few members short due to injury and covid isolation requirements. However, the whole club supported the team on social media with several club members attending to support our women.

They did a fantastic job winning 4 out of 5 matches on the first day, entering Sunday as 5th seed.

Sunday opened with an incredible game against Warwick's first team which was very closely fought. PICNIC came away with a 5-4 win and boosted morale.

They continued to play hard for the rest of the day and held their 5th place for the tournament. This means that PICNIC Women's team have qualified as 1st seed from the West for Division 2 Nationals!

Congratulations to all women involved, but especially to Anastasija Timofejeva for getting MVP and Cerys Mills for getting MIP as well as to Olivia Sims for being an outstanding captain.

Head over to their Facebook Page to watch some of their matches:

"I'm so proud of the team and how we developed over the weekend. We came into the tournament as the underdogs, really having not trained much as a team, and were predicted to come 9th. We also struggled with numbers as we have recently had a lot of illness in the club. Despite all this, we came 5th overall and qualified for nationals! This is a really big achievement and we're all very excited to be going to nats in February."

- Olivia Sims, Team Captain
