About the Game
Ultimate is a non-contact, self-referred team sport played with a flying disc (or Frisbee). It relies upon a Spirit of the Game that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. There are no referees; the players are solely responsible for following and enforcing the rules, even at the World Championship. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.
About the club:
PICNIC has been established within Plymouth University for 28 years, We are a small and unique sports club that is welcoming to anyone and everyone who wants to try out a new sport. We hold regular training for all skill levels throughout the week as well as a fitness session for those players that want to focus on fitness and health. Our club will compete in Men's, Women's, Mixed and Open tournaments all over the country meaning that everyone to join the club will be able to play and represent the club and Uni. If you are unable to play in games and tournaments you are still able to come to our socials and training as you are not required to play.
As a club, we aim to allow the members to compete at all levels of competition. We travel mainly within the South West but also adventure further to larger tournaments. From fun beginners tournaments to National Competitions, PICNIC will take you all over to enjoy the sport at a reasonable price. With over 20 Tournaments a year there is plenty to choose from!
