Come along to our 2024 Summer Showcase!
This event is open to the general public, happily accomodating friends, family, artists and dancers, groups from other studios, and absolutely everyone else! There is disabled access and seats within RLB Theatre. Please let us know via email (uppdc@outlook.com) if you require any extra help or information.
Members, alumni and instructors have worked amazingly to independantly choreograph routines for you. During the evening event, you'll see a range of styles from contemporary flow to sxy exotic, with group and soloists, and a wide range of ability levels from beginner to elite!
All proceeds from the night will be donated to our wonderful Studio, the Art of Dance in Mutley. The studio and community has completely changed the lives of hundreds of people over its years, and will continue to impact so many more! We are thankful for everyone at the studio, and can't help ourselves from wanting to give back.
Our performers are absolutely fantasic, many of which having competed (and won) in Pole Dance Competitions. Within the last year, we've had many members enter competitions, with 1st Place Group and 2nd Place Intermediate Soloist at Varsity, plus 2nd Place in Doubles and Advanced Soloist at English Rivera! Our members also regularly perform at local events, including hilarious charity night-out 'Filth', Aerial Allsorts showcase 'After-Dark', and more. Our girls really are inspiring!
As well as our own amazing members, we've got Elite-Champion, Esme Telford performing during the event! Esme is one of our own fantastic Instructors, who we all love dearly and praise her talents so much more!
We have previously hosted all our Showcases in the Student Union, however this year we have expanded into the Roland Levinksy Lecture Theatre. We will be posting information on our Instagram (@uppdc) on how to get here.
This is an 18+ event, with exotic and burlesque style routines so please be aware IDs may be checked on the doors. Prices will be raised on the doors so get your tickets in advance!
Doors open 5:30 PM for a 6 PM start. There will be two sets of 15 minute breaks, and expected finish by 9:30 PM.
This is a Nut-Free Event, and no parking is available on campus.
