Hey! I’m Alex and I’m running to be your VP International & Outreach.
Being an ex-partner college student myself I’m very passionate about better representation at both national levels and Plymouth university levels for the 5000 Plymouth university partner college students. I’m able to represent these students as I have been one myself and I understand how unsupported these Plymouth university students are. I’ve also attended university meetings to represent these students by discussing how the university can better support and engage with them, so that they have the same great access to university support and resources which partner colleges lack.
One thing which makes studying at Plymouth university so great is the large mix of cultures which can be found in every corner of the campus. I want there to be more emphasis on the different cultures and aim to have regular cultural celebrations hosted by UPSU.
My third policy will ensure that international students are heard, I will do this by actively lobbying the local MPs and being their voice especially with their concerns or anxieties for Brexit.
