Hi, my name is Ajay Patel and I will be running for the position of VP Sports in the upcoming election.
During my time at Plymouth, I have been heavily involved with sport. It has been a massive part of my university experience, and I would like to help make it part of yours.
I am former president of the Dodgeball club and the current Kit Sec for the Cricket club, in the Dodgeball club I:
- Increased membership numbers by over 60%
- Raised over £200 for charity

Our sports community
Introducing a team/player of the week award as well as broadcasting the results of our clubs throughout the SU will help with awareness and encourage people to follow our teams.
We should be getting as many sports teams as we can playing competitive sport with other universities, and I will look at ways that we can achieve this.
Easy access
I intend to find ways to make transport and facilities more accessible and cheaper for our clubs.
I think the way team kit is ordered is a hassle and a long process, I believe this system can be simplified.
Participation in sport
Joining a sport club for the first time may feel daunting for students, therefore I would like to improve taster sessions and make sport more equal and attractive for all students.
