Hi, for those of you that don’t know me I am Maja Smith, a third year Primary Education student and I am running to be your VP Education. As a primary school teacher education is my passion, and making sure that all students have equal opportunities to experience academic excellence is crucial. Last year I was fortunate enough to be elected UEC chair and school rep for the Institute of Education, and have continued to fulfill these roles this academic year.
My three key points are:
- To lobby for free printing for third years’ dissertation and postgraduates and push for all course to have online module hand ins, as well as to reduce printing costs, whilst promoting the free SU printer for all other years.
- To promote and celebrate academic excellence through greater detailed module guidance including deadline dates to help greater inform your module choices. Furthermore, creating a grad calculator for the SU app, to allow students to easily calculate their gradation grades. As well as lobbying for graduations to remain on the hoe for future years.
- To lobby for more fun, relaxed study spaces for all courses across campus. As well as extending the current puppies and cupcake party across campus, to allow more opportunities to de-stress with animals and food throughout the year.
