Hello there! I’m Dan, a final year BSc (Hons) Business Management student, and I want to be your next VP Education at UPSU, doing everything I can to improve your student experience!
Over the past few months, I’ve spent my time talking to students from other courses and faculties, from freshers to postgrads – this manifesto is the result!
Unfortunately, not everything I want to do for you will fit in this document. If there’s anything you think I might have missed, feel free to contact me through Facebook, and we can either discuss it there or I’ll be happy to meet you on campus!
Here is what I will do on the issues you care about:

I will lobby the university to reduce printing costs. Tuition fees for undergraduates are set to rise to £9,250 later this year; we pay more than enough as it is, so cheaper printing is the least we deserve!

I will run more “Stress Less” events like the Puppy and Cupcake parties, helping you to chill out and enjoy yourself – particularly around exam time!

I will improve employability throughout the university with approachable workshops focusing on CV writing, interviews, and related skills.

I will work with academic societies to get them more support from their related courses. This should both help students meet like-minded individuals, and support societies in increasing their membership numbers!

I will work to empower students who have not declared their mental health problems to the University. You are not alone.
