•    Wellbeing and life skills: Tackle gaps in student knowledge. Decrease the bystander effect in emergencies, and teach life skills. Current ideas include self-defence, swimming and first aid training, as well as student-taught sessions on home economics.
•    University support services: All students to be aware of the various support services available to them, as well as their right to apply for DSA and extenuating circumstances for mental and physical conditions.
•    External services: Increase awareness of services students are entitled to outside UPSU’s remit. All students to be aware of benefits and reimbursements they may be entitled to, as well as community programs and services outside the university.
•    Real improvement to student mental health: Promote discussion and improve awareness of common symptoms of depression and anxiety. Ensure that all students feel able to access relevant support.
•    More inclusive events: Ensure that a portion of all events are run during the weekend so that students who are unable to attend on weeknights, such as those with work or caring commitments, get a fair chance. Ensure that all students feel welcome.
•    Sports and societies: Discuss strategies with society committees to ensure that newcomers are not put off. Introduce a Give It A Go society which will hold fortnightly planned taster sessions by agreement with our existing sports and societies.
•    Affordable and accessible food options on campus: Guarantee a simple snack to suit all dietary needs, along with a cup of tea or water, for under £1.
