What motivated you to run for a Sabbatical Officer role and why do you think you would be a good Sabbatical Officer?

As an international student at the University of Plymouth, I have seen first-hand the uniqueness of a student population, which draws its strength from diversity. I hope to ride on the strength of this diversity to achieve a transformed and better-positioned Students Union.

Why is the Sabbatical Officer role important?

It is important because it creates an interface between the students and the University. It also enable the officer to create an environment where like-minded individuals will meet, exchange ideas, and form stronger communities. We shall pair willing old students with new students for a kind mentee and mentor relationship. This kind of arrangement is believed to help new students acclimatise better and faster.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Team player, a good Manager and honest.

If you could change one thing about the University, what would that be?

As a student Union sabbatical officer, I don't posses the capacity to change anything. But, with continuous brainstorming with university management team, I believe i will push and advise for better reforms I am given the privilege to contribute.

If you could change one thing about the Students' Union, what would it be?

The union is a dynamic system that allows inflow and outflow of ideas. So I will be there to add my progressive ideas and support the union president to make a better Student Union.

Who do you draw most inspiration from and why?

I draw my strength from all past freedom fighters all over the world especially the African race. Their unity is of great strength, especially when they anchored it on diversity.

What is your proudest moment so far and why?

I proudest moment is any time I see people happy. If only the world can be ok for everyone.
