Plymouth Recreational Strength Sports (PRESS) is a BDFPA-affiliated powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting club open to all students at Plymouth University no matter what ability or experience. We aim to create a friendly environment where our members can come to train and learn from each other, whether it is your first time lifting a weight or if you are looking to build upon skills you already have. We have two qualified Personal Trainers on committee as well as experienced lifters to support your training. The club runs sessions every week on Thursday evenings for only £3 per session! We are expanding fast as it is a very popular sport and there are events and competitions being planned for the near future. PRESS welcomes everyone so come and get your name on the chalk board!
We train at CrossFit Plymouth which offers a large open plan area with multiple lifting platforms and equipment, such as a competition bench and five squat racks, to train for Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting. There are toilets and changing facilities as well as a limited amount of parking available.
Socials are being planned for the near future, some examples include:
Regular in-house competitions
External regional competition
