Welcome to the Zoology Society at the University of Plymouth! 

Our committee for this academic year is a mixed degree group who all have a collective passion for the great outdoors and all creatures who roam it! This is a society for appreciating wildlife, anyone and everyone are more than welcome to join us! (We’d love it if you had some fun facts up your sleeves!)

In previous years, there have been a variety of events, including Rockpooling, quiz nights, craft sessions, movie nights, fundraisers, pub crawls, guest speakers and even getting involved in the Dartmoor Zoo Halloween scare nights! There are various events that cater to drinkers and non-drinkers so we can be as inclusive as possible whilst also having a good time. Last year, the main volunteering opportunity was with our local Dartmoor Zoo, who led behind the scenes work for our members, which involved creating fences for the African Aviary, maintaining enclosures, and even got to feed goats and tapirs! We hope to continue our work with Dartmoor Zoo, and we have some exciting new plans for the upcoming year so stay tuned!
