Hello! Welcome to the Musical Theatre Group (MTG) page!

MTG is a student led society that has been running for 32 years, since 1992. Working alongside our Plymouth University members we also have enthusiastic volunteers and talented professionals from the local community.  This academic year we have lots of fun shows, activities, fundraisers and socials lined up and we can't wait to get started!  In terms of performances, we will be putting on: 1 showcase (in November), 1 musical (in March) and 1 Cabaret / relaxed performance (in May)! 

If you’re passionate about musical theatre or the theatre in general, but don’t feel particularly confident in your skills, or you wish to increase your skill level, not to worry, all abilities are welcome!  Our society is all about learning new skills, making friends, having new experiences and sharing our love for theatre, in an enjoyable and inclusive environement! 

Our sessions take place on Tuesdays & Wednesdays 7pm-10pm, and Sundays 1pm-4pm.  As we approach show dates, these rehearsals times are subject to change to allow for all the fun stuff like Dress & Tech rehearsals!

We have one type of membership (MTG Standard Membership) for you to sign up for this year!  This membership includes: 

- All sessions!

- Socials!

- Our Showcase!

- Our Cabaret!

- Ability to be a Performer, part of the Tech team*, or both!

- Access to MTG merch!

- Opportunities to develop a skill, or two, whether you've had it for years, or are trying something new!

- And of course the opportunity to be part of our lovely MTG family! 

*Tech team includes: stage management & crew, sound, lighting, costume, make up, props, etc…!
