The Education Society (EdSoc) is open to ALL students at the University of Plymouth, especially to those studying for an education degree or considering a career in the education sector. Over the course of this year, we will have many great opportunities for our members to meet new people and spend time with your friends as well as a chance to upskill in many areas. As well as this, we support two charities (Mind and Jeremiah's Journey) which we will be fundraising for over the course of the year! The last few years we raised over £300 for our charities, so let's try and smash this number and raise as much as we can!!

Our aim is to work together to create exciting events where you can learn skills on your journey to working within the education sector. We are a friendly society that is run by a committee that wants to have feedback and cater to its members! Socials:

Within EdSoc we hold creating meaningful and lasting friendships dearly, as our careers develop we have a strong recognition that we will rely on our friends, colleagues, and acquaintances a lot. Henceforth why we value these socials so highly. Not only are these events designed to have fun and to help us let off steam, but it also allows us to expand our social network and create connections that will help us for years to come. As most people within education will agree, a dress-up is always fun! Accordingly, we have planned LOTS and LOTS of fancy dress nights, from 'Back to School' to 'Space Invasion'!! 

However, it is significant to note that our socials do not only involve drinking! We have plenty of events planned that do not include any pubs or clubs! 

Sports: 

EdSoc sport is a great way to unwind, meet new people and be active.

The last academic year we had great success with both out football and netball teams. The players trained and played so well. They got to form friendships and be active while playing a sport they enjoy. You can come along and just train or join the competitive league and play against other societies.
