Civil Engineering

Please log in to join this organisation.

CivSoc is the Civil Engineering Society, primarily for students of Civil Engineering or Civil and Coastal Engineering at any stage, or those involved in construction related degree programmes!

We organise a variety of talks and site visits in order to enhance your learning, help you start out on the path to chartership, get a real-world view of the industry, and most importantly provide you with perfect opportunity to network with potential employers!

Plans for 2019/2020

    • 11th October 2019, 1100-1500

  • Hinkley Point C - Fingers Crossed!!

    • We are hoping to get back to Hinkley Point C this year after a sell out trip last year.

    • End of Semester 1 or beginning of Semester 2

  • Networking Evening: Discuss placements and course choices (Civil vs. Coastal, BEng vs. MEng) with those that have been through it already!

    • Thursday 21st November!

    • 1900-2200

    • Chat over a pint in the SU

  • And much more!

We run events and site visits to local construction projects to ensure that everyone has a chance to see how stuff really works. Getting out on site is invaluable! You won't truly understand what you've signed yourself up to by studying Civil Engineering until you head out on site.

Events are advertised by email through Jon Miles/Boksun Kim/Ed Ellis and also on our facebook page/group!
