Whilst this is good news when you are out shopping, it is also good news for fraudsters and thieves!
Some banks are letting customers choose their own contactless limit (Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland) or removing the facility altogether (NatWest) so you might want to think about the pros and cons of doing this.
If your bank will not agree to reduce the upper limit and this is a concern for you, you might want to think about moving your account to a bank that will let you do so.
We remind everyone to be vigilant at all times when using their contactless cards and to report lost or stolen bank cards immediately.
