Our thoughts are with those affected by the crisis in Turkey and Syria. The evolving situation in the aftermath of the earthquakes is an incredibly worrying time for everyone, especially students with friends and family in the affected areas.

The University has a number of staff and students impacted by the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria earlier this week, and the University of Plymouth is providing support to them where required.

What's happening right now might be making you feel overwhelmed and anxious. You're not alone. It's OK to talk to someone you trust about how you feel. If you have been impacted, either directly or indirectly, please reach out for support.

Accessing support

The Pastoral and Spiritual Support team is always on hand to support anyone directly or indirectly affected by the unfolding events.

Students can also visit the Student Hub on campus or call 01752 587676 to access a range of Wellbeing support services.

Fundraising and offering support

If you want, and are able, to contribute financial support, the UK’s Disasters Emergency Committee has launched an appeal which will fund relief efforts in the affected areas should any staff wish to donate.
