Summer Ball is nearly upon us! Here are some helpful bits of information for on-the-day:

When and Where Can I Collect My Wristband?

Wristband collection for the 2026 Summer Ball will be happening in the main SU bar at the following times:

  • Tuesday 19th May; 3 – 8pm

  • Wednesday 20th May; 3 – 8pm

  • Thursday 21st May; 3 – 8pm

  • Friday 22nd May; 3 – 8pm

You’ll need to show your QR code and a photo ID, such as your student card or driving license, to collect.

Need Photo ID?

If you don’t have photographic ID in another form, you might want to consider a Citizen Card. This is a nationally recognised form of ID that saves you having to take valuable documents, like your Driving License or Passport, on a night out. We’ve been given an exclusive £5 discount for our members – check it out today

What If I Won’t Be On Campus To Collect?

You can nominate another student to collect your wristband(s) on your behalf. The person who made the purchase will need to email info@su.plymouth.ac.uk with their written permission to allow another person to collect. They will need to give us their full name and Cc that person’s student email address into the email thread so that we can take their information to check it off on collection.

What If I Can’t Find My QR Code?

If you can’t find your confirmation email with your QR code, please try these steps:

  • Check your Junk and Spam folders.

  • Check which email address you used to sign up to Native platform. Log in to Native and check there are no spelling errors in the email address you used to sign up. If you are unable to log in or can’t remember which email address you used then please get in touch at info@su.plymouth.ac.uk and we can check for you.

Remember, Summer Ball tickets are being sold through a third-party ticketing platform, Native. When you purchased your tickets you will have been asked to create an account – to see your purchase history you’ll need to log in to Native not the UPSU website.

If you still can’t access your QR code, please email info@su.plymouth.ac.uk

Safety & Security Notices

We want you to enjoy Summer Ball safely. In order to keep it fun for everyone, there are additional measures taken for the Summer Ball:

  • There will be security staff around the site for the duration of the event. They are there for your safety, and will be able to help if you have any challenges on the night.

  • We have a strict zero tolerance policy for drugs. This year, there will be Police dogs positioned at the entrance and throughout the queue who can detect drugs. Anyone found with drugs or other illegal substances in their possession will be refused entry from or removed from the event immediately and the Police will be involved.

  • We take drink spiking incredibly seriously. Students can, as with our SU-events, request to have their drink tested at any of the bars.

  • We are an Ask for Angela venue. If you or a friend feel unsafe because of another guest, please ask for ‘Angela’ at the bar and a member of staff will assist you discreetly and safely.

  • Plymouth Night Patrol will be supporting us with First Aid. Anyone who becomes unwell due to intoxication will be observed and, if necessary, give medical attention.

  • We have a zero tolerance policy on abuse of staff, whether verbal or physical. You will be escorted off the premises if you are found to be doing so.

  • Our staff reserve the right to refuse service if you are underage, drink or suspected to be mixing your own drinks.

  • Fire exits and muster points will be clearly signposted, in the unlikely event of a fire please make sure you know where your nearest safe exit is. Trained staff will also be helping to direct you to safety.

On The Night Info

Here are some helpful pointers to get the most out of your night:

  • Although this is an 18+ event, please bring your ID – you may be challenged at the bar. Don't want to bring your driving license or passport? You can use a Citizen Card as proof of age – order yours today.

  • A range of food options will be available in the Food Village, on the SU Roof. Extra measures have been taken this year to ensure that each vendor is able to provide a £10 meal and a £5 food option to make it more affordable.

  • On top of the regular SU toilets, there are five other event toilet blocks located in The Main Hall, the Fun Fair, The VIP section, on the SU Roof, and at the entrance to the Main Stage.

  • The Main SU Bar and Zig Zag Bar will remain open, but there will be six additional pop-up bars located by the Main Stage, VIP, on the SU Roof, in the South Marquee and in the Main Hall.

  • Bins will be dotted around site, please use them appropriately to help us keep the site clean!

Your Wellbeing At Summer Ball

As part of our mission to facilitate fun in a safe environment, here’s what is available on-the-night to help you enjoy yourselves:

  • There are a variety of spaces at Summer Ball, including a Chill zone where you can eat food in the South Marquee (on the SU Roof), and a Quiet Zone in The Lounge. Please do make use of these spaces; they are designed to help you take a break as/when needed.

  • A Multi-Faith Prayer Room will be available inside The Hive. Please email info@su.plymouth.ac.uk with your name and student number ahead of time if you wish to use the Prayer Room on the night. Security will have a record of all registered students and confirm your identity with photo ID.

  • Free tap water will be available all night long, please remember to stay hydrated particularly if you are also drinking alcohol.
