The Team Plymouth brand was created in 2010 to bring a sense of cohesion to our sporting community. The brand is used on sports kit and across various platforms to represent our sporting community. We recognise the significance of a name and logo as key assets for sports entities striving to build strong communities with both their competitors and supporters.

The Team Plymouth brand has lost its way over the last few years and we want to create a new look that refreshes the brand and achieves a much more modern, student-focused approach to our sports identity. We want to build a brand that our students are proud of and provide a sense of belonging and identity.

The Students' Union is inviting University of Plymouth students to submit design proposals for redesigning the Team Plymouth visual brand


This new brand must:

  • Be unique to Plymouth
  • Reflect our diverse community
  • Represent the values of the Students' Union
  • Stand out from the crowd
  • Create a sense of pride
  • Capture the Plymouth's pioneering spirit
  • Work flexibly alongside existing SU and University brands
  • Be versatile to scale and placement

Monday 19th April  
  • Shortlisting panel:
Week commencing Monday 19th April
  • Student vote:
Monday 26th - Friday 30th April
  • Final design announced:
Saturday 3rd May
  • Initiation of the new brand:
Summer 2021


Submitting your designs

Design proposals must be submitted in PDF format by Monday 19th April 2021 and sent to Verity Lemm the Vice President of Activities at



The winning design

The University of Plymouth student whose design is chosen as the final design will receive £200 and their design will be used to build the Team Plymouth brand.
