On the 12-14th May 2023, the University of Plymouth Rowing Club (UPRC) organised a 48 hour row to raise money for their club and for charity.

Members rowed in shifts through day and night, achieving a total distance of 1,032,831 metres across the weekend and exceeding their fundraising goals!

In addition to our ambitious squad goal of rowing 1000km, individuals took on their own challenges rowing distances of up to 110km each across the weekend. This not only boosted the team total but kept up morale through the quieter late night shifts.

UPRC members were situated outside on rowing machines at West Hoe Park during the daytime, with "wonderful sea views", and during the evening and throughout the night, members completed the challenge inside at Pitts Hall on campus.

Alongside working hard to raise funds for their club, UPRC also raised money to support two brilliant charities of their choice: Love Rowing and Devon Mind.

Love Rowing is a British Rowing affiliated charity that helps fund access for underrepresented communities to get into rowing. Devon Mind does incredible work to support mental health across Devon.  We are incredibly grateful for all donations: https://gofund.me/8f5240df
