University of Plymouth Students' Union is a charity and is a very friendly work place.

We have an opportunity for an Morning Cleaner to clean and maintain our multifunctional venue. You will work as part of a small team of early morning cleaners.  An eye for detail is important in the role and if this is you, then we would like to hear from you.

Purpose of Post:
To provide a clean environment in the Students’ Union, working to short time limits.

 


 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide a high standard of cleaning to areas of the Students’ Union as designated on a rota basis by the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager.
  • To clean areas within the designated time.
  • To maintain all cleaning materials issued in a clean, hygienic state.
  • To inform the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager of any breakages of furniture or fittings.
  • To ensure that at the end of each shift the furniture and fittings are set out according to the agreed plan.
  • To monitor and report on any recurrent problems with the evening and weekend cleaning routines.
  • To inform the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager of any shortages in cleaning materials or of any equipment faults.
  • To undertake any other duties required by the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager within the cleaning department, for which further training will be given.
  • To keep up to date with work emails and update electronic logbook accurately.

Role Information:

  • Permanent: 741 hours per year (16 hours per week)
  • Pay Scale: Grade 1, £10.78 per hour

Time Scale:

  • Closing date: 9am, Monday 4th September 2023
