ABBY WILLIAMS

Hello, I’m Abby and I am a 2nd year BEd Primary Education (Special Educational Needs) student. Over my time at Plymouth University, I’ve gained a wide understanding of the needs and wants of students who are in the Institute of Education, therefore my main points are the following:

CPD support: Many of us will go into teaching. This is a tough profession to gain a job in. Therefore I will work to ensure that the CPD needs of students are met and that we are provided with the time and opportunities that will allow Plymouth university students to stand out.

Communication:  To continue to develop the level of Communication we as students have with staff. To ensure that communication is open and everyone has a chance to have their voice heard and to know we have a say in the way our courses are run.

Resources:  For our degree’s resources are an important aspect. Knowing what is available to us to enhance our learning and to borrow for placements would allow students to be better prepared and offer more when on placements.  I’d also like to raise an awareness of the need for more relevant books in the library, that are up to date and in demand.

I am always open to ideas and opinions from others and will take the time to maintain and develop the work that has been done by previous school reps
