Hi everyone, I'm currently a Stage 1 Course Rep for the Economics Programme.
Through my role, I've learned the importance of the student voice and the impact it has upon the decisions made within the Business School. As your School Rep, I will my encourage students to become Course Reps, as it provides the perfect platfrom for students to really have their opinions heard, but more importantly, valued.
Addressing change is crucial in getting the most of our studies, and if there is something you want to change, I am happy to take this on and enforce some really positive changes at Plymouth. If elected, I will do my best to ensure lecturers video/voice record their lectures in order to make revision and catching-up that little bit easier, as this is something current students have said they want to see happen. Furthermore, I will organise more student talks about placement and graduate preparation, as well as elective modules in order to make these decisions less daunting - I've found the best advice about these things has been from current students, so I want to make this a far bigger concept in the Business School.
The empowerment of the student voice is key and I want to make sure that everyone within the Business School has their say in the decisions made. Working with staff and students is something I'm passionate about, and I hope to bring about many positive changes - I want to ensure it's your voice that is heard.
