Hello, I’m Adeola, I am currently an MA Education student. Throughout university, I have participated in a wide range of on campus and community activities; through the SU, Plymouth City Council, an International Non-Government Organisation and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. I have also been awarded sponsorship’s and bursaries to attend global conferences.
Whilst at university, you have the time to develop those key competencies and transferable skills needed for your future career. I aim to encourage students to fully utilise the opportunities available.
I aim to work towards:
Sustainable Societies: Ensure that there is equitable funding for societies and support on how to better manage their resources. I will also work with committees to co-construct a code of conduct that provides them with the confidence to maintain positive environments.
Communications: Faculty’s need to integrate more with the SU as it supports the sourcing and promotion of ‘best-fit’ opportunities for students. I will work on inter-faculty partnerships to increase student engagement in volunteering and development activities.
'Stand Out' Initiatives: I will strengthen the promotion of events through student-led campaigns that act as a way to consult and notify students on the long-term benefits of participating in extracurricular activities.
