Relevant experience:

• International Student studying Law at Plymouth.
• Negotiation Officer of the University of Plymouth Law Society.
• Acted as a Student Buddy for international students.
• Participated in the Erasmus Mobility Programme in Germany.
• I have a deep understanding of student needs from being an Accommodation Assistant and Student Ambassador working for the International Office.

Goals:

• I will ensure mature students feel comfortable to engage socially on campus by organising more events designed with consideration given to the commitments of wider community of students.
• I will urge the university to stop prioritising the conventional students’ needs over the needs of the mature students and raise awareness of the importance of mature students within the university population. I will design Welcome Events during Freshers Week for mature students to ensure smooth transition into university life.
• I will work to improve the international students’ career prospects by creating career development programme for international students and inviting international graduate friendly employers to network. I will be persistently promoting international student workers amongst local employers.
• I will work towards building partnerships with the Student Unions abroad participating in Erasmus+/International Exchange programmes to bring more international experience opportunities to all PlymUni students.
• I will lobby the government to protect the rights of EU students in Plymouth against the effects of Brexit on fee status, financial support, and funding for research.
• I will campaign for fair accommodation for all and raise awareness amongst students in halls and private housing about their rights as tenants.
