About Us
The Women's Basketball club accepts players of all abilities. Joining the team is a great opportunity to make new friends, improve your fitness levels and have some fun. Our training sessions are helpful in developing basketball skills, improving fitness levels and developing teamwork skills. We have a BUCs team which competes regionally and we put on friendlies for all players to take part in.
Training
General training will take place Tuesday 18:00-20:00 at Nancy Astor sports hall.
Trails and Taster sessions
First session is always free! So at any point if you would like to come along to try out the club please do so!
We will also be running trials for our Bucs team, dates TBC so keep an eye out on our instragram, or register intrest in september to receive an email!
BUCS
If you try out for our Bucs team, this is the Western Tier 1 team. We compete against 5 other teams. This will involve some long travel days on a Wednesday. If you make the squad it will require dedication to the sport, teamwork and the club.
Socials
Socials ("nights out") are held reguarly, alongside the Men's Basketball team on a Wednesday night (most of which will be themed!), however. We also hold some 'sober socials' as well as well, so there is something for everyone ! During the first month of University, we will hold extra socials as a way for everyone to settle into the team and get to know each other! Just before the Christmas holidays, a Christmas meal at a restaurant is organised, usually with the men's team, and at the end of the academic year, a final meal out together is organised where we hand out awards within the club voted by the club!
