UPAC offers a variety of training for long-distance and sprint distances for all abilities, whether you have never run before, just finding your running legs or are an experienced runner our club intends to cater to you.
Track sessions starting from the Wednesday 5th October
Wednesday: 14:00-15:30 (Meet at SU roof then walk to Brickfields track)
Friday: 19:00-20:00 (Meet at SU roof then walk to Brickfields track)

These runs can link into training for the Plymouth 10km or half marathon and split into groups depending on what people feel like doing. We give our members opportunities to compete throughout the year, both on track, in cross country, and local road races. Our club has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and everyone is welcome! We have socials every other week in the club with varying themes throughout fresher’s week and sober socials including bowling, mini golf and meals after training. This year specifically we want to focus on having more bigger socials with links to other clubs and drinks deals throughout Plymouth as we do enjoy a goodnight out as a club!!
As well as this, we have a more formal meal at Christmas where everyone attends and dresses to impress with prizes throughout (though none are serious). We pride ourselves on being an approachable and friendly club and have won most social club in the sports awards for our performances in intramural events.
We participate in Varsity against Exeter and other universities in both terms and also send a team to BUCS cross country and indoor meet annually, with the option of attending the BUCS outdoor athletics meet. We highly recommend attending this event as it’s a great opportunity and a fun weekend away!!
More regularly, we attend the Westward cross country league monthly, and also compete in the local road races, including the Plymouth 10k and half marathon as well as the Armada 3k/5k monthly series.
This year we hope to attend more Park runs throughout Plymouth and the surrounding area!
All events are open to everyone to enter or to come along and cheer other members on! If you don’t want to compete don’t worry we aren’t competition crazy. See our race schedule calendar attached for more information on upcoming events to enter! This will be updated as the year progresses.
Fundraising and Volunteering
Throughout the year you have the opportunity to volunteer during charity events. We will run cake sales, charity runs, and athletics relevant tasks on the SU roof to raise money for charity. A lot of the club enter the Plymouth half marathon to raise money for there own causes and train together, with opportunities to run marathons around Europe to raise money for Charity.
