Sports at UPSU
In addition to running our own sports centre we provide plenty of opportunity to participate in both sport and activity, regardless of your level of ability or commitment.
There are over 50 sports clubs ranging from traditional sports, such as rugby, football and cricket to martial arts, archery and watersports. All these clubs are run by a democratically elected student committee, therefore are ran by students, for students.
Many clubs travel all over the UK to compete against other universities in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), national and regional competitions.
Social sport is delivered through the Intramural and Give it a Go programme:
Intramural sport is open to anyone whether part of a sports club, society or a group of friends, there are popular leagues such as 11aside football and netball which run throughout the year or a variety of one off tournaments such as table tennis and dodge-ball.
Give it a Go is the flexible pay as you go option, booking is not required for the majority of sessions just turn up and join in. No experience is required, all abilities are welcome and all equipment is provided.
