Student group members from the Swimming, Synchro and Waterpolo Society recently took part in the annual British University Swimming Championships: a BUCS sporting competition. Team members Annika and Rosie shared with us an overview of the BUCS competition...
"Recently a group of swimmers travelled up to Sheffield to compete at the annual British University Swimming Championships.
Everyone swam very well and the team spirit was strong throughout the weekend.
A special mention should go to Freddie Ashley-Sparks who not only reached the finals in all 4 events he swam that weekend, but also qualified for the national meet in the summer!
We would like to say a big well done to all our swimmers as many came to compete for the weekend having not competed in a long time and either swam personal bests or seasonal best!
A great effort from everyone and thank you to those that helped organise it and make the weekend as great as it was.

We like to carry out regular socials (normally with a theme), once every week on Wednesdays. Our social secretaries work very hard to make these as fun as possible! Details of socials will be posted as events on our facebook group, so make sure you follow that to keep up to date! We also hold sober socials, as well as having a family system in the club - we think socials are the best way of getting to know everyone so make sure you come along!"
