Kieren Perry

RAG President 2016-17

"I can’t recommend Volunteering enough! My time volunteering for RAG (Raise and Give) whilst at University has opened the door to so many opportunities, both then and now. Whilst developing myself, I also had the fantastic opportunity to help raise money for a number of charities and extremely worthwhile causes, making a real impact both at home and abroad. Taking part in the Uganda Gorilla trek, I not only fundraised and went to see where that fundraising made a difference, but also had a once in a lifetime experience doing it! If that wasn’t enough, it also helped me develop in terms of public speaking and organizational skills. Additionally, volunteering my time as RAG President worked in well with my degree (Events Management) and provided me with invaluable experience that then put me a cut above the rest in job interviews which is crucial in an ever competitive job market. Everyone benefits from volunteering and I can’t recommend it enough, I’ve met some truly inspiring people along the way and wouldn’t be where I am today without Volunteering. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re sporty or green fingered, my only regret is that I didn’t get more involved!"
