The Colombia Challenge team who are part of Raise and Give (RAG) are fundraising for Amnesty International to support their challenge and raise awareness of the amazing work the charity does. As part of the aim to fundraise for the charity, the team took to the Students' Union with buckets and spinning bikes for their Charity Cycle. Read how the team did below:

We initially aimed to cycle 164km in support of Amnesty International. We chose to cycle 2km for every million displaced people in the world (82million).

In the end, we completely smashed the target by cycling an impressive 300km whilst raising awareness of the work Amnesty does and fundraised a total of £218.10!

The atmosphere was great, and with such a supportive team and some good tunes to keep us going, it was a great day for our team.

Team Shout Outs:

Emma Butler - Challenge Leader.

Emma was responsible for organising the charity cycle, liaising with the team to arrange time slots, marketing on Instagram and finance. By setting this event up, it allowed the team to come together for group fundraising and also create an eyecatching fundraiser resulting in a bigger impact on everyone involved.

Ryan Collins - Team Member.

Ryan was full of energy and spoke to everyone who came past which helped with raising awareness and donations. Ryan is such an asset to the team and kept up team morale too.

Chloe Giacalone - Team Member.

Chloe was our furthest cyclist, completing a whopping 68km. Chloe's amazing effort shouldn't go unnoticed and definitely helped our team exceed our target.

Everyone's turnout was great and everyone was excited to be involved. Without people turning up we wouldn't have had such great energy to reach our distance target or spread the message that Amnesty does.
