Over 60 UPLFC players came together to make a positive impact and celebrate a legend, our Rocko, an alumni who unfortunately passed away this year.
We had just over 60 UPLFC members both past and present come together to compete in a tournament. 3 teams were created to compete and the teams were generated based on the year they joined UPLFC:
Team 1 : The Golden Oldies
Team 2 : The Mid-Life Crisis
Team 3 : Fresh Out The Womb
The Freshers team battled their way to victory however, more importantly our total raised to date for Teenage Cancer Trust is £3922.62!
Quotes from players:
“Sharing the pitch with all of these women yesterday was my most favourite moment that I have had in my 3 years with UPLFC and was a true demonstration of what it means to be a part of a team, as we showed what can be achieved when people come together. Rocko was an unquestionable inspiration and touched so many lives, the other day was just a validation of that as everyone stood together united for her and to celebrate her life” – Alannah Blount
“This event was absolutely amazing. Players from over the years all coming together to raise as much money as we can for Teenage Cancer Trust by playing the sport, we all love. Together we were powerful. #4Rocko” – Ella Croft (Current UPLFC Captain)
“Saturday was an incredible day for UPLFC and as a fresher it meant so much to be a part of it. To learn about such an amazing woman who was clearly loved by so many people was so special. Seeing so many people come together to support such a brilliant charity and to be a part of an event that was so well planned with so much heart will forever be remembered in all our hearts.” – Madeleine Morton
