Marine Biology Society recently ran their annual winter ball event, along with Scuba, Biology and the Environmental Society, and this year instead of having so many decorations and food at the event, they kept the tickets the same price and donated the excess money to charity. They managed to raise £668 with this event for the local BDMLR charity, which rescues stranded marine mammals on UK shores. They are really proud of their achievement, as it was the first event of its kind where they altered what had been done in previous years.
They will be donating the money in the new year and will hopefully arrange for a charity representative to come down to the University for a talk on world wildlife day.
Massive congratulations and well done.
