Join the University for a communal citizen science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time as possible

What is a BioBlitz? It is a communal citizen science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time as possible. BioBlitzes are great ways to engage the public to connect to their environment while generating useful data for science and conservation.

King Charles has always had a keen interest in nature and has been an active campaigner for the environment for over five decades. That is why we think it is a great excuse for naturalists, scientists and curious members of the public to meet in person, in the great outdoors and have fun! Everyone is welcome to join the event. We will be using the iNaturalist app plus identification books during the event.

The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6th May 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

To mark the occasion, the University will be holding a number of events on campus leading up to the Coronation.

Find out more about all the events taking place from the 3rd - 6th May on campus here.
