Want to make great friends, learn essential self defence skills, build confidence, and get fit in the process? Then join Jiu Jitsu!
Jiu Jitsu is a martial art which combines throwing, locking and striking to create an effective form of self-defence, no matter your size or ability! Whether you are looking to learn self-defense, improve your fitness, meet new people or are simply curious then come along and find out.
Regardless of your starting ability, you will soon be putting on wrist locks, rolling, throwing people, and much more! We tailor the sessions to suit individual needs and provide a safe environment for anyone who joins.
All sessions are held at Pitts Memorial Hall (opposite Robbins Hall of Residence)

It’s good to get to know the people you’re training with! That’s why we socialise after every session and have regular socials throughout the year.
Each year there are two main events that we as a club attend: the Atemi and Randori Nationals. At these events, Jitsu clubs from all over the country gather to train, compete and socialise for a whole weekend. With training from some of the Foundation's most experienced instructors and with upwards of 800 people on the mats. It is always an amazing weekend of intense training, competing (not to mention winning) and mega partying!!
We also have a Jisu Summer School held in Newquay, Cornwall, where we all get to camp out, socialise, train, and hit the beautiful beach for a weekend!
