Want to make great friends, learn essential self defence skills, build confidence, and get fit in the process? Then join Jiu Jitsu!

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art which combines throwing, locking and striking to create an effective form of self-defence, no matter your size or ability! Whether you are looking to learn self-defence, improve your fitness, meet new people or are simply curious then come along and find out.

Regardless of your starting ability, you will soon be putting on wrist locks, rolling, throwing people, and much more! We tailor the sessions to suit individual needs and provide a safe environment for anyone who joins.

Covid 19 measures

TBC, We want all members of the club to feel safe while training, so if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions, please just drop us a message.

On Thursdays we train 6-8pm with Sensei Matt, going over self-defense techniques and throwing.

We are also now practicing on Mondays from 8-10pm. These sessions are heavily fitness orientated with a bit of rolling on top, as well as giving an oppurtunity to get back on the mat and practice what you've learned.

Once a month we are also having Sensei Adam over to share some of his techniques on Monday. He's been coaching for over a decade now, with a lot of experience and skill, so these sessions are a great oppurtunity to pick up some new tricks.

We train at Thomas Pitts hall, PL48BT (opposite robbins)

If you have any questions or concerns, please drop an email and we will get back to you soon.

Joining our club costs just £5!

Events and Socials

When we can, we go to the pub after our training sessions

Additionally we typically run other bigger events thought the year such as Halloween and Christmas socials, and other events such as paintball and trampolining, as well as any other ideas the club might come up with.

Each year there are two national events that the club attends: Atemis and Randoris. At these events, Jitsu clubs from all over the country gather to train, compete and socialise for a whole weekend. With training from some of the Foundation's most experienced instructors and with upwards of 800 people on the mats. It is always an amazing weekend of intense training and competition (not to mention winning). We also have a Jitsu Summer School held in Newquay, Cornwall, where we all get to camp out, socialise, train, and hit the beautiful beach for a weekend!
