** WINTER CONCERT - December 7th 2018 **

To mark the end of the first term, the Concert Band will be performing their Winter Concert - and it's all for charity!

A fantastic evening of entertainment lies in store, with some well known pieces lined up! Including:

Tickets: Students £2, Adults £3, available on the door

Come along and listen to the hard work the band have put in so far this year!

Cakes, tea and coffee will be available in the interval.  All proceeds from tickets and refreshements will go to Plymouth Music Zone.

Welcome to UPCB! 

UPCB is a keen and friendly group of musicians who are interested in playing a wide variety of Concert Arrangements, performing within the University and around the City.
MUSIC: With a large library to choose from and new pieces every year, we have a good range of Film, TV, Marching Band, Concert and Traditional music. This year pieces will include:

Magnificent 7
Instant Concert
Nightmare Before Christmas
Live and Let Die
Lord of the Dance
and many more...
SOCIALS: Getting to know everyone in the band is important both for friends and music, so we will be organising a series of socials throughout the year, both within Concert Band and in association with the other music societies. Suggestions for these are always welcome!
EVENTS: We hold regular concerts, both within the University and around Plymouth City, including Christmas concerts at the Indoor Market and the Big Society Showcase. Follow our Facebook page for regular updates on where to see us.
INSTRUMENTS: We have no limit on the number of people in the band and are always happy to welcome new members and instruments!  We will be happy to adapt parts to your needs or ability. The main instruments we have in the band are:
  • Woodwind: Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Eb Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone,    
  • Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba,
  • Percussion: String Bass and Orchestral Percussion including Mallet and Timpani.
REHEARSALS: We meet every Tuesday evening in Rolle 018 between 6:15pm and 8:30pm.
