What motivated you to run for a Sabbatical Officer role and why do you think you would be a good Sabbatical Officer?

Understanding the need for effective leadership & adapting strategies to fit our changing demography of students, my motivation is a genuine passion & commitment to improving the student experience. I have gained experience in representation, leadership, teamwork, written & oral communication, identifying student needs, problem solving, prioritizing time & maximizing resource. Running as President would be a platform to shape the future of the university experience through effective advocacy.

Why is the Sabbatical Officer role important?

For effective leadership of the students' union & For equal representation and support of our diverse student body

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Astute, Compassionate and Devoted.

If you could change one thing about the University, what would that be?

Increased collaboration with the students' union would potentially close the gaps and ensure the inclusion of appropriate student voice on matters that directly impact the student experience like accommodation, designing relaxation spaces and food prices on campus and academic policy reviews.

If you could change one thing about the Students' Union, what would it be?

Helping to make the Students union more inclusive in its representation structures, making it accessible to promote better student engagement from our growing diverse student population.

Who do you draw most inspiration from and why?

My parents - They raised me to be a strong, visionary woman who is not afraid to challenge injustice and lend a voice to the voiceless whilst remaining true to herself.

What is your proudest moment so far and why?

Giving the SU vote of thanks at my Masters graduation ceremony. why? it taught me that dreams are nudges of purpose pointing you towards destiny but bold steps are needed to make it a reality.
