Where to find support over the holidays:

SU Advice

If you need support or advice during the holidays, our advisors are available to help you with whatever issue or question you have, between 10:00-16:00, Monday-Friday. You can contact the SU Advice team by emailing advice@su.plymouth.ac.uk

Our team of friendly advisors have experience in dealing with all types of student enquiries so you can rest assured that you will get the right information.

Most importantly the Advice Centre is not part of the University, we can, therefore, provide free, independent and confidential advice, so you can talk to us in confidence, knowing that nothing will be shared with anyone if you don't want it to be.

Taking care of your mental wellbeing over the holidays

It's really important to look after your wellbeing whilst you're at University, including during the holidays. The Advice Centre can offer practical advice about a range of issues, but sometimes you just need someone to talk to, if this is the case then why not consider getting in touch with the Wellbeing Services offered by the University.

You may also wish to consider getting in contact with the Pastoral and Spiritual Support team. More information on the Pastoral and Spiritual Support team can be found here.

To support with your wellbeing, we offer various activities, whether you are looking to join a sports club, society, volunteering or just giving it a go at something new where you can make new friends and share common interests. The following opportunities are available for you:

Give It A Go

Give It A Go is a timetable of either free or low cost activities, including sports such as basketball, rock climbing and yoga which take place either on the University of Plymouth campus in our SU Gym or other leisure centres in Plymouth or its surrounding areas. All acitivies have equipment provided and where required, travel arrangements are organised by SU staff.

This year, Give It A Go has introduced more special events like day trips, workshops and a host of other activities either in Plymouth or its surrounding areas to enable you to explore new places, visit local attractions and enjoy thrilling experiences whilst making new friends at the University of Plymouth. Find out more about the Give It A Go programme here.

UPSU Buddy Schemes

There are two UPSU Buddy Schemes available for all University of Plymouth Plymouth students to access. These aim to provide support and assistance for anyone who wants it. The most important thing to remember is that you are not alone.

You can either sign up to become a buddy and support wellbeing in the students community or sign up to access a buddy. More information on both schemes can be found here.
