Four of our archers - Grace Addicott, Victoria Lytka, Matthew Penn & Joe Maskell - qualified for and shot in the BUCS Indoor Archery Finals this year, shooting a WA 18m qualification and seeding round followed by head-to-heads.
Grace Addicott (REW) and Victoria Lytka (BEW) shot in the early Session 1, with Grace scoring 417/600 (IA1) on a triple-spot target placing her in 49th for the Recurve Women category. Victoria shot a 375/600 (IB2) placing her in 36th in the Barebow Women category, narrowly missing the cut-off for Head-To-Heads by only 9 points!
In the Barebow Open category, Matthew Penn was also very close to qualifying for Head-To-Heads, scoring 399/600 (IB3) and placing in 34th. Joe Maskell seeded 6th with a score of 505/600 (IB1), qualifying himself to continue to the Head-To-Head rounds!
Joe's first match was a flawless 6-0 win, and his second he won 6-2. He was finally knocked out in the quarter-finals by Surrey archer Luka Gillingham in a close 7-3 match (29-29, 26-23, 24-27, 26-27, 23-26).
Well done to all of our archers who qualified for and shot at this event this year, and thank you to Warwick Archery for hosting!
