With publication of results fast approaching, some of you may find yourselves required to repeat modules as a same attempt in the next academic year. This is often because of having valid extenuating circumstance in place.
Previously, if a student had an FSO decision (repeat as same attempt) decision they were not charged fees for the repeat. If they were repeating as FNO (next attempt) they were required to pay repeat fees.
However, from the 2025/26 academic year this will be changing.
Tuition fees will be charged for all repeats, whether same or next attempt.
If you have any queries about the impact of this change, whether in relation to repeat funding, decisions around choosing to repeat rather than refer, any anything else, then please get in touch with SU Advice for further guidance.
*There may be a very small number of students who are not required to pay repeat fees, but these decisions will be made in exceptional circumstances only.
Your faculty will be able to offer further guidance on this after publication of results.
Please be aware that SU Advice will not be able to offer guidance as to whether you will be exempt from paying repeat fees.
