Plymouth RAG hosts Roller Disco Success!

volunteering

Our award winning student led fundraising team, Plymouth RAG, has started the year off with a bang by hosting a whole range of exciting fundraising events for students at Plymouth University. September began with some sold out events in Freshers week such as the annual Take Me Out evening and the increasingly popular Pizza Eating Competition which attracted over 20 hungry, determined teams of students.

On Sunday 9th October, RAG hosted their first ever Roller Disco event, complete with a 1950’s ‘Grease’ inspired theme, retro roller skates and yummy treats. The evening was a big hit with students and raised £467.58 for RAGs 3 nominated charities: Coppafeel!, Brain Tumour Research SW and Dementia UK.

Each year, the University of Plymouth Students' Union hosts a student wide vote to decide the three chosen charities for Plymouth Raise & Give. The RAG committee will spend the year raising money for these three charities, with the donation being made in the summer term. Money raised throughout the year from such events is split between these 3 charities.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the RAG team for their continued hard work and commitment to engaging and inspiring students to get involved with charitable causes and fundraising opportunities.
