This role will work to develop engagement within representation systems at the Students’ Union and University. Coordinating and delivering a programme of training, support and communication for all representatives to support the democratic, representative processes of the Students’ Union.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and deliver training to elected representatives
- Provide ongoing advice and support for student-led representative activity and on key issues, including research and delivery of campaigns and initiatives on behalf of the whole Union and representatives
- Supporting engagement with local and national awareness raising campaigns.
- Provide on-going advice and support to elected representatives including skill development and engagement opportunities.
- Provide pre and post meeting support for elected representatives attending university meetings. Ensuring that they are adequately prepared and have accurate and appropriate data and information to present.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues in the Students’ Union and University.
- Contribute to printed publications, E Newsletters, websites and social media on behalf of the Students’ Union and ensure all are kept up to date and published on time.
- Assist with the ongoing development and review of Students’ Union democratic processes and student-led policy.
- Work with colleagues to ensure the effective capturing of representative engagement participation data throughout the year.
- Maintain up to date knowledge regarding developments within the sector and to share this knowledge with colleagues and representatives in an appropriate format.
- Support the Students’ Union in the running of events and activities, for example welcome events, Fairs, Awards, Elections, training and other activities to increase student engagement.
- Attend relevant University meetings, conferences and other meetings as requested and as appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as required by the Representation and Democracy Manager.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively across Membership Services activity teams.

- Permanent: 1,665 hours per year
- Pay Scale: Grade 2 £22,587
Time Scale:
