Details
Purpose of post:
To help ensure that UPSU is effective at helping students have a successful, fulfilling and rewarding life by supporting managers across the organisation to create the right culture, structures and systems so that our people can be at their best and consistently deliver outstanding work.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of UPSU’s overall mission and strategy through the development of tools and frameworks that help to create a high-performing and inclusive work culture.
- Help contribute to a positive and inclusive culture across the organisation by ensuring strong people management and development frameworks that are aligned to UPSU’s values and strategy.
- Support managers in developing a strong performance culture by championing the performance framework and providing the tools and support required to enable managers to effectively develop their teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures in relation to HR, – including company (and charity) law, employment law, Data Protection, Equality Act etc.
- Provide coaching and act as a business partner to managers in dealing with staff HR concerns.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong understanding of good practice in HR / people management.
- Good attention to detail and able to produce work with a high-level of accuracy.
- Ability to analyse people data and make recommendations based on the findings.
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently using a range of channels.
- Strong IT and digital skills – including MS Office and digital communication tools.
- Excellent organisational skills – the ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload.
- Capable of managing a range of internal relationships.
- Able to provide support and advice to a range of internal stakeholders, and build strong relationships based on trust.
