We are hosting a Mario Kart World Tournament in Rolle 114 and 115! This will start at 2pm with a heat stage going into brackets. Please ensure you arrive before 2:30pm, otherwise we cannot guaruntee you a position in the tournament.
Tickets are free, but please ensure you "purchase" one to participate in the tournament.
A range of prizes will be provided for winners, so keep an eye on our social media for more information!
If you have a Switch 2 and MKWorld please feel free to bring it, you can also get in contact with us if you don't mind it being used for the tournament (it would be a big help).
Your first SwitchUP hangout requires no membership, so feel free to come along to any of the following SwitchUP hangouts to get some MKWorld practise before the tournament:
Friday 13th Feb: 7pm-10pm Rolle 114-119
Friday 20th Feb: 7pm-10pm Rolle 114-119
Friday 27th Feb: 7pm-10pm Rolle 114-119
In Rolle 117 we will be hosting a speedrunning time trial challenge for MKWorld Dino Dino Jungle, as well as setting up MKWii and MK8DX to play some casual games in between your matches. No need to partake in the tournament if you just want to come along for these!
Please note there is a chance that brackets will overun on the night, so if you're confident in your ability to make it to the finals please keep this in mind :)
We aim to be as welcoming and supportive as possible, so if you have any worries about accessibility or are just feeling nervous about getting involved get in contact with us via our social media/email and we’ll do our best to help! In the past we have met people in a familiar spot on campus to walk to the session together, or we have met outside the Rolle building, or just outside the room so you don’t have to walk in alone. We can make sure you’re able to get involved by saying hi, having a chat and teaching you how to play some of our favourite games! If that's not your vibe, and you just want to solo grind some Zelda or Mario Kart time trials that's also completely fine!
Snacks and drinks are welcome, being mindful that some of our members have allergies, as long as everything is left clean and tidy, and help reorganising the room after the session is very welcome, we hope to see you there!
The best way to get in contact with us is our Instagram or the discord (DM a committee member), but you can also message our Email and Facebook if needed.
If you join the Discord please fill out the Google Form in #member-verification and comment “done” in the channel so we can add the role for you.
