Join us for our Movember showcase on the 19th November to celebrate International men's day!
This November, the University of Plymouth Pole Dance Club is hosting a Movember Charity Showcase, and we want one brave man from every society to take to the stage and perform a 30-second pole routine in support of Movember. Movember isn’t just about moustaches, it’s about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. These are conversations that matter, and we’re using confidence, creativity, and community to start them in a fun, empowering way.
No pole experience? No problem. We’ll be offering practice sessions, choreography support, and plenty of encouragement from our society members. Whether you’re a natural performer, a total beginner, or someone who just wants to push themselves for a good cause, this is your moment to shine. Each performer will perform a short 30 second routine during our charity showcase. You can choose your own theme, song, or style. Go funny, dramatic, or powerful. Whatever feels like you!
We’ll help with:
- Basic moves and safety guidance
- Music and choreography ideas
- Rehearsal time in advance
- Promotion and fundraising support
This event isn’t about perfection , it’s about participation, confidence, and raising awareness for something that affects so many men in silence. So gather your courage, represent your society, and help us raise funds and smiles in equal measure.
Tickets for performers will cost £5, this will cover the cost of the practice session.
Tickets to come watch cost £3.
All profits will go towards charities for Men's mental health and testicular cancer.
The event will be held in the Students’ Union Main Room. Doors open 4:30pm.
