A personal testimony of faith – What happens when you die?
"If you have ever wondered what happens when we leave this earth, then the story of Beccy is one that will touch your heart like never before. She was just like anyone else until she hit 35 and became a mother. The thought of what would happen to her children if something happened to her kept nagging at her every day.
Then one day, after much contemplation, prayer and seeking answers from the Bible, Beccy found her faith in Christ. Her journey led her down a path of peace that surpassed all understanding - and she never looked back!
If you are curious about where we go when we die or need hope in uncertain times, then let Beccy's story inspire you too! Click the link below to read more about how she came to find meaning beyond this life and everlasting love.

Wednesday 28th June
Professor David Salter – 1pm - 2pm
"Bare Bones of Christianity: NOT what you think they are...", with insights from archaeology and the historical record as well as personal experience and faith.
Come and explore the "Bare Bones of Christianity" - they're probably not what you think! Join us on a trip through history, archaeological discoveries and personal faith to investigate Jesus and his followers. Who did Jesus say he was, and what is the evidence that he was right? If he was just a good teacher, why did so many people hate him?
David is a physicist, biologist and medical anthropologist with a lifelong involvement in archaeology. At University he was a Buddhist, but became convinced that he couldn't earn his own ticket to whatever counts as heaven. He wasn't actually improving himself - just improving how well he disguised how bad he was! Reluctantly, he became a Christian, for whom Jesus says he's bought the ticket. But that was just the beginning... so come and share!
Thursday 29th June
Rev. Michael Shaw – 1pm-2pm
Deserts, Monasteries and Burnt at the stake!
Looking for an alternative faith that defies the norm? Look no further than Christianity! The radical history of this ancient religion has been shaped by its bold proponents: from deserts to monasteries, they’ve pushed boundaries and faced persecution for their beliefs.
For instance, the Desert Fathers – ascetic hermits who withdrew from society to live out their faith in isolated desert environments – were among the earliest saints in Christianity. Their teachings on divine love and self-abnegation have influenced countless mystics throughout history.
And then there’s the Celtic monastic tradition, which brought a unique flair to Christian practices through music, poetry, and storytelling. These monks lived communally on remote islands off Scotland’s coast, took vows of poverty and service to others.
Despite these rich traditions of creativity and spirituality, not all Christians have experienced easy lives – some were even burnt at the stake for their beliefs. But their legacy endures today in churches that strive towards inclusivity and justice.
